Our first inter-city forum on ecogentrification will take place in Montreal on Friday April 26th, 2024 from 9:30am to 4pm (from 10am to 3:30pm for people joining us online).

We’re organizing this forum because our communities are living with the unintended negative impacts of greening initiatives.  With more and more resources going into local climate adaptation, it’s time to address the exclusion and displacement associated with poorly planned greening, beautification and adaptation projects, especially in lower-income neighbourhoods.  

With your contributions, we hope this first forum will help us collectively:

• name the issues

• create links between our communities

• and set the stage for a second forum during autumn 2024 to identify strategies and collective actions.

Please join us and share your experiences of ecogentrification and your ideas about how to ensure climate justice principles guide future greening and climate adaptation.  

Let’s build an intercity network of solidarity to fight ecogentrification collectively!
